Elements
There are several possibilities to import or create base elements for the font you wish to build.
If you are familiar with Fontlab and Robofab, you could create them in Fontlab and then export your element-font as UFO. Under "File", select "import UFO" to import.
If not, elements can be added by clicking this icon. A new window will open in which you have to opportunity of basic vector editing and copy-pasting from Illustrator or Fontlab.

Inside Font Constructor, beziers can be manipulated and drawn. If you prefer, you can copy-paste your drawing from Illustrator or Fontlab into the Element editor.

all kinds of delete keys will obviously delete the selected points or contour(s).
Select a pencil to draw. A pencil will create a bezier contour by following your mouse movements.
Select a pen to draw directly with beziers, similar to Illustrator.
Select Add Anchor to add a point on an existing path.
Select Delete Anchor to delete a point on an existing path.
